Join Bear Trax Adventures for a guided trek as you snowshoe through a winter wonderland. Bear Trax offers group tours for all levels ranging in length from 1 hour to 3 hours. All group tours meet at the Clubhouse Grill located next to the Tubing Park on East Mountain Road and across the street from the Killington Grand Hotel. Group tours are offered on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays from mid-December through early April. Group Tours are also offered daily between Christmas and New Year’s Day and during the February vacation week. The use of snowshoes and poles are included in the tour price.Our standard group tours include:
Killington Classic Tour 1.5 - 2 hours: suitable for all levels Our most popular tour, this hike utilizes a combination of hiking trails and groomed ski trails with a gradual ascent up snowshed peak. Total distance is between 2.5 - 3 miles. This tour is offered at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as holiday periods. $50 per person; $40 children ages 10-14 Beginner and Family Tour One hour: suitable for beginners and advanced beginners This tour uses the pathways around the Killington golf course as well as some mellow hiking trails. This tour is suitable for children (ages 8 and up). This tour is offered at 4 pm on Saturdays and Holidays and may be offered during other times depending upon demand. Families often book this tour as a private tour. $40 per person; $30 for children ages 8-14 Yurt Tour 2 hours snowshoeing plus 45-60 minutes for lunch: intermediate $60 per person; (lunch not included in price) Minimum Age - 14 This tour utilizes the hiking trails adjacent to Snowshed ski area. It includes an invigorating ascent to the Ledgewood Yurt where we stop for a relaxing lunch and/or beverages (not included in tour price). Total distance is approximately 3 miles. Following lunch, we enjoy a gradual descent back to the Clubhouse. The tour is offered at 11:00 am whenever the Yurt is open (typically Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays). Ramshead Rambler 2.5 hours: Intermediate/ Advance Intermediate $60 per person, Minimum Age - 14 This tour explores the trails around and parallel to Ramshead peak. The tour includes a lengthy uphill followed by a fast downhill. Total distance is 4+ miles with approximately 1500 feet of climbing. The tour is offered on Saturdays at 1:00 pm once the snowpack is deep enough which is generally early to mid- January. Shoes & Brews 1.5 hours snowshoeing plus 45-60 minutes for refreshments $60 per person; Minimum age - 21 This is the Killington Classic tour followed by a stop at the Killington Grand Hotel for some wonderful appetizers and beverages. The tour price includes appetizers but not beverages. Check with Bear Trax for dates and times. Moonlight in Vermont 1.5 -2 hours: Suitable for all levels $55 per person; $40 for children ages 10-16 Our classic tour under the lights of the moon and stars followed by a warm beverage. Additional Information • All tours are subject to change and are always weather dependent. • Guests planning on a Bear Trax Adventure Snowshoe Tour should dress in layers, with ski pants and WINTER BOOTS. • Snowshoes and poles will be provided and are included in the tour price. • Guides will be equipped with backpacks, water, and first aid kits. • Tours are charged in full at the time of booking. • Reservations cancelled more than 48 hours prior to the tour will be fully refunded. • For cancellations within 24 – 48 hours of the tour, Clients will be given a voucher for use on a future tour. • Cancellations on the day of the tour or no shows will result in full forfeiture. • If tours are cancelled due to a lack of snow, unsafe conditions or minimums not met, Clients will receive a full refund. Tours are generally not cancelled due to cold temperatures or snowstorms unless conditions are unsafe.
